Evaporative condensers concentrate hardness because concentrating it is how they work
An evaporative condenser rejects heat by evaporating water, which leaves dissolved solids behind, so the circulating water concentrates continuously and scale forms on the coil unless bleed and treatment keep pace. Scale raises condensing temperature, condensing temperature raises compressor lift, and the extra power is drawn every hour the plant runs. The same open circuit also collects airborne debris and supports biological growth, so the coil, the sump and the distribution system are usually one job instead of three.
